Below is a copy of the "Standings / Tie-Breakers" Rule in the standings rules. The final standings are used to "seed" the teams for the city tournaments. The highest seed ( lowest seed number i.e. 1 ) is the first place team based on "final" standings. For the City tournament, the highest seed (lowest number) is always the home team regardless of the field that the game is scheduled on. In the event that 2 teams with the same seed meet (like 3 National vs 3 American) the home team will be determined using the same tie breaker system below.


Rule 14 - Standings / Tie-Breakers

Best Record
The League champion is the team with the best overall record at the conclusion of the regular season.

Tied Record
If two or more teams have an identical overall record at the end of the regular season, the following tie breakers will be followed in the below sequence until the final standings are established:

Head to head record against each other.

Best overall record against teams within their league. (A.K.A. Division Record)

Best record against individual teams (who are not currently tied) within their league. Comparing each tied teams’ head to head record against each team, starting with the first place team continuing through the last place team until one of the tied teams has an advantage over the other(s).

Compare records against teams (who are not currently tied) from the opposing league using the procedure in part 3 above.

The league president, in the presence of the tied teams' managers, determines the winner using a coin toss.
